Uniting in Memory and Support for a Fallen Hero-Fomanka Bartholomew Tumbu
Recently we received the harrowing news of the passing away of Fomanka Batholomew Tumbu. The loss was unexpected, sudden and terrible, and for his family and friends, the grief is heavy and excruciating. But today, we remember not only one moment of tragedy but a life of great purpose and achievement.
His death has occasioned an outpouring of grief and contrition, reminding us once more of man’s helplessness and his inability to control his destiny. Across the world, there have been countless tributes and expressions of affection, respect and recognition through the use of the social media. Even in death, he remains a towering force who earned public admiration for a tremendous sense of service to his community. His loss will be felt in Kumba and even beyond.
This is a time of mourning for the Fomanka family and it is a period of sadness for our entire community. In this time of anguish, we are asking God to provide fortitude and comfort for all those who have been seriously affected, that is grieving families, grieving friends and a grieving community.
In times as this, we rely on sources of support to sustain us. These sources of strength are in our various communities. These sources of support and strength are with our loved ones, above all in the faith that sustain us. In the wake of his death, friends and families have lifted the deceased up in prayers and meditations They are praying for the repose of the soul of a fallen hero. In times like this, we can always seek solace in the grace and guidance of a living God.
Drawing from the preceding presentation, I am calling on you brothers and sisters to attend a meeting on Saturday 10th Jan, 2015, time 15.00pm at my residence: Steenweg 440, 9470 Denderleeuw, Belgium.
The purpose of this meeting is to make goodwill donation to help support the bereaved family. We are also going to pray for the repose of the soul of Bartholomew.
I am writing to you therefore in the hope that you may be able and willing to attend the gathering and contribute to this effort. And for anyone who may not be opportune to attend the meeting, please don’t forget to send in your own contribution as early as possible.
The funds raised from the aforementioned event will go directly to the Fomanka family, so please do help if you can.
It is relevant to emphasize that this meeting is not a wake-ceremony and should not be misconstrued in any way for a wake-keeping service nor any of its kind, rather a collective effort to pray for the deceased and his family, raise money to support a family dealing with a major tragedy.
I will like to thank all of you in advance for your wealth of understanding, for accepting my suggestion and responding positively to it. If you have any questions, further suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards,

Dear All,
I am writing to express my deepest thanks for your recent participation in the prayer and fundraising session for late Bartholomew Fomanka Tumbu. Generous donations from donors like you always help to provide the financial and moral support needed to handle and contain a sudden, unexpected tragedy.
With your generous giving, the event raised the total sum of one thousand two hundred and thirty five (1235) Euros, that is Seven Hundred and Ninety Three Thousand, Seven Hundred and Eight Francs (793.708,00) FCFA. There is no way to fully express my gratitude for the trust and loyalty, for your deep sense of commitment and generosity.
With your trust comes the requirement for accountability on my part. The latter is a good recipe for all sustainable relationships. As I intimated in my closing remarks on 10/01/2015, accountability would be provided. The total sum of 1235 Euros (charges inclusive) has been transferred to Mr. Esembieng Fomanka Justin Joseph later this morning. Please, see enclosed western union money transfer receipt.
It is my sincere hope, prayer that this spirit of trust, commitment as well as responsibility which inform our friendship stays forever. I look forward to a continuing partnership with you all.
Many thanks again for your wealth of understanding and trust.
Sincerely,
Ngangum Peter Tiako.
